You Will Need
You will only need a handful of items to make these ornaments.
Everything can be found at a dollar or discount store.
- one cup of applesauce
 - one cup of ground cinnamon
 - flour
 - cookie sheet
 - parchment paper
 - tempera paint
 - string and other embellishments (optional)

  Directions
- Combine the applesauce and cinnamon into a medium bowl. Mix until a dough forms. Add additional cinnamon if the dough becomes tacky.
 - Preheat the oven to 200F degrees.
 - Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
 - On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. (Cinnamon can be used instead of flour!)
 - Use cookie cutters to cut fun Christmas shapes out of the dough. Then place these raw ornaments onto the prepared cookie sheets.
 - Pierce a hole at the top of each raw ornament.
 - Bake the ornaments for 2 or 3 hours or until completely dry.
 - Once the ornaments are removed from the oven and given a chance to cool completely, use non-toxic tempera paint to decorate them.
 - Add the string and any embellishments you'd like.

NOTE: Although ornaments are non-toxic... they are not meant to be
    eaten!
